How PAS Scholarships Work

Educational scholarships open on April 1, 2026 and close on April 30, 2026. The next application window after that is Spring 2027. All educational scholarships require active PAS membership. The eight named scholarship funds are:
- Armand Zildjian Percussion Scholarship: $2,000 annual award for a full-time student percussionist enrolled in the School of Music at an accredited college or university. Applicants must be an incoming college freshman or current student for the 2027 to 2028 academic year. Requires a letter of recommendation and a video demonstrating ability on at least two different percussion instruments (maximum 10 minutes).
- Fred Hoey Memorial Scholarship: For percussion students meeting specific criteria published on the PAS website.
- Freddie Gruber Scholarship: Supports drum set students in their studies.
- Jim Chapin Memorial Teacher Scholarship: For students pursuing percussion education.
- John E. Grimes Timpani Scholarship: For timpani specialists.

Zildjian Family Opportunity Fund
This fund opens on February 2, 2026 with a deadline of March 2, 2026. It provides funding for percussion education opportunities, with details and eligibility criteria published on the PAS website.
PASIC Scholarships
PASIC (Percussive Arts Society International Convention) scholarships open in May 2026 and assist students with the cost of attending PASIC 2026 in Indianapolis, November 11 to 14. These scholarships typically cover convention registration and may include travel stipends. PASIC is the largest percussion event in the world, featuring over 120 concerts, clinics, master classes, and workshops across all percussion disciplines.

Larrie Londin Memorial Scholarship (drum set):
- PAS membership is NOT required for this specific scholarship

- Students aged 18 to 24 must be enrolled in or apply funds to an accredited, structured music education program
- Submit a 3-minute video demonstrating ability in different drumming styles
- Submit a 100 to 200 word essay on your qualifications and how the money would be used
- Financial need is not a consideration for this scholarship
PASIC Scholarships:
- You must be a full-time student and an active PAS member at the time of application
- If selected, your membership must remain active through PASIC 2026
- Scholarships cover convention registration and may include travel stipends
