Because YouTube Music does not accept ISRC as a search parameter, every track in your uploaded file goes through the fuzzy search path. The tool normalizes titles and artists from the file (stripping M3U noise, encoding artifacts, and common prefixes), searches the YouTube catalog, and scores candidates by string similarity. Results from channels ending in " - Topic" receive a score boost since those are YouTube's official auto-generated audio channels for catalog music.
The YouTube API quota applies to searches as well as writes. Each search.list call costs 100 units. For a 100-track import, matching alone can cost 10,000 units, which is the entire default daily budget. The tool displays the estimated quota cost before you start. For large imports, Spotify is a faster destination: try file to Spotify instead, which has no quota constraint and supports ISRC lookup from CSV files.
The write step (adding tracks to the playlist) also costs 50 units per track. A large import may need to be split across multiple days if both matching and writing are done in a single session. The review screen lets you confirm matches before the write begins, so you can run matching today and writing tomorrow if needed.
