Free Text to Spotify: Turn Any Song List Into a Playlist in Seconds
Free text input is the most flexible source option. There is no file format to prepare, no account to connect beyond Spotify, and no minimum structure beyond one song per line. Paste a DJ's tracklist from a blog post, a setlist from a Wikipedia article, a curated list from a Reddit thread, or a manually transcribed screenshot, and the tool converts it into a real Spotify playlist.
The tool splits each line on the selected separator (hyphen by default, but also comma, pipe, or tab) and treats the two halves as artist and title in the order you specify. Lines that do not parse cleanly (no separator found) are flagged before matching begins, so you can fix formatting issues upfront rather than getting silent failures. After parsing, each valid line goes through Spotify's fuzzy search and the confidence scoring described on the main transfer tool page.
For structured file imports (CSV, M3U, XSPF), use the file-to-Spotify transfer instead, which also supports ISRC-based direct lookup. For building a Spotify playlist from a mix of track URLs and text lines, our Spotify Playlist Builder handles Spotify URLs, pasted text, and CSV files in a single interface.
