Exporting a YouTube playlist to a file captures the video title and channel name for each entry. For Topic channel videos ("Artist - Topic"), the channel name maps cleanly to the artist name, and the video title is the track name. For general music videos or fan uploads, the "artist" field in the export will contain the uploader's channel name, which may or may not match the recording artist. The TXT export writes one "Channel - Title" line per track. The CSV export writes separate columns so you can clean the data in a spreadsheet before re-importing.
The M3U8 export is the most useful format for DJ software and local media players. It includes #EXTINF duration and title metadata that applications like VLC, Rekordbox, and foobar2000 read automatically. The XSPF export carries structured XML with title and artist fields, which is the recommended format for cross-platform interoperability.
Once you have a CSV or TXT file, you can re-import it using our file-to-Spotify or file-to-Deezer transfers. The fuzzy matcher handles the title normalization during import, so even messy YouTube video titles (with "(Official Video)," "lyrics," or "(HD)" appended) are cleaned before the catalog search.
