How Neversea Works

Neversea takes place over three to four days on the Modern Beach in Mamaia Nord, a resort area north of Constanța on Romania's Black Sea coast. The festival runs multiple stages including the mainstage, the Temple (underground and techno), and the Fratelli, Luna, and Helios stages. Programming spans EDM, house, techno, pop, and live acts, with both international headliners and Romanian artists.

Tickets go on sale in waves starting with early bird pricing in February. Pass types include General Admission, VIP, and various tiered packages. Early bird passes historically start around RON 420 (approximately $90 USD) plus fees. VIP passes offer elevated viewing platforms, private bars, and premium facilities. Tickets are available through the official website.

The festival is organized by the UNTOLD team, which also runs UNTOLD Festival in Cluj-Napoca (Romania's largest festival). Neversea was created to extend the UNTOLD brand to the Romanian seaside during peak summer season. The first edition in July 2017 drew over 153,000 attendees across three days, with performers including Tiësto, Afrojack, Fatboy Slim, Benny Benassi, and Jason Derulo.

Transportation to Neversea is available via train (Bucharest to Constanța, approximately 2 hours), domestic flights to Mihail Kogălniceanu Airport, and shuttle buses from Mamaia resort. Accommodation options range from beachside hotels in Mamaia to Airbnbs in Constanța, though booking six months in advance is recommended.

Real-World Example: Neversea 2026

The 2026 edition is scheduled for August 28-30 at Mamaia Nord, marking the festival's return after a challenging period. The festival took a break in 2025 due to location availability issues on the beach, and there was uncertainty about whether it would return. However, the official website confirms 2026 dates with tickets on sale.

The 2026 lineup represents the festival's most ambitious booking to date. Armin van Buuren returns for a special sunrise set on the mainstage, a format that has become a Neversea tradition. Dua Lipa headlines as the pop headliner, bringing her full production show. David Guetta returns with new material, and Swedish House Mafia (Axwell, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso) make their Romanian festival debut.

The Temple stage programs underground and techno, with confirmed acts including Charlotte de Witte and Boris Brejcha. The 2026 edition is expected to feature four days of programming with over 200 artists across seven stages, making it the largest edition in the festival's history.

Why It Matters for Independent Artists

Neversea offers independent artists exposure to one of Eastern Europe's largest beach festivals. The festival's multi-stage format creates opportunities beyond the mainstage, particularly on the Temple stage, which programs underground techno and house. Romanian and Eastern European artists have a direct pathway through the UNTOLD organization's local booking network.

For international independent artists, Neversea provides access to the Romanian and Eastern European market, which has a rapidly growing electronic music scene. The festival's beach setting and summer timing make it attractive for artists routing through European festival season. Streaming numbers in Romania and neighboring countries typically surge for artists who perform at Neversea, given the festival's strong social media presence and live streaming coverage.

If you are targeting a Neversea booking, build relationships with the UNTOLD booking team and monitor their submission channels. Having releases on labels that host stages at the festival is a common pathway. Use our Streaming Royalty Calculator to project post-festival streaming revenue from Eastern European markets, and check the Tour Revenue Calculator to plan your European festival routing.

Visit the official Neversea website for tickets, lineup details, and accommodation information.
